From 1st October2008 all Tenanted property poffered for sale or Rent will require an Energy Performance Certificate to be in place before marketing begins.

It is inevitable that once this deadline arrives there will be a rush to obtain the certificates and delays are likely to occur. This in turn could create a situation where revenue will be lost as new tenancies can not be completed without thsi certificate being in place.

We are urging all Landlords to start the process of obtaining the certificates before the 1st October, The Certificates will last for 10 years .

At the moment fees for Energy Performance Certificates are very competitive however as the deadline approaches and Landlords compete to obtain the certificates it may lead to increases in pricing across the industry.
